Error description

• Abstract:
  
  The JSF Portlet bridge provided in Rational Application
  Developer version 8.0.4 is less efficient than the one provided
  with version 8.0.3.
  
  Problem:
  
  You may see degraded performance with applications utilizing the
  JSF Portlet bridge,especially those with large object graphs and
  JSPs with many EL expressions.
  
  This is caused by new logging in
  the PortletVariableResolver, added in version 8.0.4, which
  duplicates calls to resolveExpression and additionally calls
  toString() on the bean that was resolved.  It also duplicates
  potentially large object graphs and immediately discards the
  output,
  generating extra garbage, especially if the system does not have
  the com.ibm.faces.portlet.PortletVariableResolver trace
  enabled).
  
  
  Local fix:
  
  There is no known workaround at this time.

Problem conclusion

• Improved tracing statements in JSF portlet bridge code was
  added to improve the overall performance of the portlet
  bridge.
  
  The fix for this APAR is included in Rational Application
  Developer v8.0.4.1.
